Apple Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Credit Manager on behalf of one of our key clients, a leading provider of prepaid solutions and payment processing, based in their head office in Billericay.

This is an on-going contract for long term sick leave, working hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm, currently working 2 days in the office, 3 days at home, excellent salary DOE + benefits.

Responsibilities;

  • First point of contact point for major customers regarding all billing and collections issues including major retailers and balances due from mobile networks
  • Manage three direct reports and a team of seven at an outsource partner, majority at remote locations
  • Motivate, lead and develop staff setting measurable objectives, conducting regular reviews and ensuring development as required
  • Recommend write-offs and liaise with the accounts staff to ensure recovery of any output VAT
  • Review and develop procedures for collection of overdue debt; letters, cancellation of services, legal action
  • Manage the legal collections process, working with external debt collectors and solicitors
  • Manage credit risk through reduction credit checking processes, deposits, prepayments, guarantees and credit insurance
  • Monitor key areas of credit risk and put in place processes and controls to protect the business
  • Develop and document credit policy covering the provision of credit, collections procedures, bad debt provisioning policy
  • Ensure that credit policy is adhered to at all times by all departments & manage credit related costs and contracts
  • Provide collections information – DSO’s, aged debt, direct debit failures
  • Ensure a high level of service is delivered to customers and that issues are dealt with promptly and fairly

Requirements;

  • You must have previous Credit Management experience
  • Previous experience leading a credit and collections department with a small team of staff
  • ICM qualified or equivalent
  • Exposure to smaller customers, such as sole-traders as well as major blue-chip customers
  • Works well within a team or on an individual basis
  • Self-Motivated and ability to lead projects
  • Computer literate
  • Able to start immediately
