Apple Resourcing are looking for an experienced Customs Clerk to join our client, a reputable freight forwarder, on a full-time permanent basis in Basildon, Essex

Working hours Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm £22-£25K DOE.

Responsibilities;

• Produce customs entries and customer service to all customers, overseas partners and suppliers
• Ensure accuracy of information from importers on the requirements for correct Customs Entry
• Ensure all entries are completed in a timely manner
• Obtain info from customers in order to complete customs clearance, deliver or release of cargo
• Provide transport companies with relevant information for customer deliveries
• Keep customers fully informed of any holds, exams etc which may cause delay to a shipment
• Maintain all files and paperwork and update information onto in-house system
• Maintain effective communication & relationships with customers, overseas offices & partners

Requirements;

• Must have a minimum of one years customs experience working for a freight forwarder
• Good knowledge of customs documents and actioning customs entries
• Working knowledge of CHIEF, CNS, Destin 8 & T 1 Movements
• Able to work and meet deadlines
• Computer literate
• Excellent customer service & communication skills
