Apple Resourcing are looking for a Junior Logistics Operator for our client in Witham, a global Freight Forwarder, on a full-time permanent basis.

Working hours Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm, Once trained and competent in the role, consideration to move to a more senior role will be made (this may entail a change in hours either 06.00 – 3.00pm or 11am – 8pm).

Responsibilities;

• Checking freight arrives as manifested
• Planning local deliveries to allocated vehicles
• Entering consignments on appropriate systems
• Working alongside a team to ensure the smooth running of the Pallet network system
• Building bookings onto FMS then allocating to relevant network system and invoicing accordingly
• Ensuring any discrepancies are reported to relevant client or depot
• Resolving issues that drivers may encounter on a day to day basis or reporting the issue to relevant department to get resolution
• Dealing directly with existing client base to answer any question relating to their consignment in a courteous professional manner
• Quoting clients from a designated tariff
• Ensuring all consignments have POD assigned to them and then upload onto relevant system
• Ensuring all outbound freight is correctly labelled and scanned at end of day before trailer departs
• Dealing with any issues warehouse may encounter in identifying freight
• Report any issues in respectful and polite manner to the transport manager or failing that the relevant department personnel
• Planning deliveries to fleet of domestic vehicles efficiently and instructing drivers accordingly
• Printing end of day manifests

Requirements;

• Must have minimum 1 year experience of working in an office environment and have excellent data entry skills
• Good attention to detail and accuracy is essential
• Previous experience working within logistics sector would be desirable
• Must have experience with Excel and other systems
• Computer literate
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to work alone as well as in a team
• Flexible approach to working hours
